The Friends assist the Library with fundraising and provide volunteers for Library events. 

Below is a sample list of activities the Friends have held or assisted with:

• Funds for books, shelving, computers, copier, and transportation to Story Hour for Headstart

• Annual Membership Drive

• Vintage Fashion Show

• Garden Tour

• Gourmet Food Auction

• Christmas Tea

• Tea & Etiquette Class

• Used Book Sale

• Appreciation Meals for Library Staff

• Appreciation Bonus for Librarian

• Help hosting Author Events

• Help chaperone Lock-ins at the Library for ages 11 & up

• Summer activities with children's groups.

• Participants in Tale Tellings

• Help during the Big Read events

• Promote Bucks for Books program

     The Friends meet in the Community Meeting room of the Giles County Public Library on  

     the 4th Monday of the month at 6:00pm.

     The officers of the Friends of the Library are:
